REPORT OF BSB MEETING HELD ON 25TH OF JANUARY 2019
The first monthly meeting of Believers’ in Sustainable Business for 2019 held at St. Patrick Hall of Pelican International Hotel, Chevy View Estate, Lekki. While waiting for the official start-off, members networked and took turn to share testimonies of how BSB meetings have contributed to the growth and development of their businesses.
The meeting started officially at exactly 12noon with a Worship and Prayer session.
Fola Ogunsola (the Coordinator) then spoke on the birth, vision and purpose of BSB. She said “Business is business, if you speak in tongues without applying the right principles, things will not turn out fine.”
Mr. Sina Adeyemi (the President, BSB Cooperative Society) spoke a bit about the Cooperative Society before inviting the representative of Lagos State Ministry of Cooperatives to address the meeting. He started his talk by defining what a Cooperative Society is and the benefits of same then shared the core principles that guide the running of Cooperative Societies;
- Open and Voluntary Membership
- Economic Participation
- Democratic Control
- Information, Education and Training
- Cooperation among Members
- Concern for the Community
- Autonomous Association
The very interactive session ended with Questions & Answers.
At this point, Odunayo Agboola was called up to formally introduce to the general house Leaders of BSB Networking & Referral Groups (NRG). 10 leaders were introduced for the different regions and members were encouraged to get active in these nucleuses of BSB as they will serve as the core of activities especially for mutual generation of business leads among members. The last seminar for the day was facilitated by Wale Ogunsola, and he spoke on qualities business owners/employers should look out for in prospective employees. They include;

- Team work
- Effective communication
A closing prayer was said to round-off the meeting after which membership registration for BSB Coop commenced, NRG Leaders met with their members, and people networked.
